 About the Maker Minimize

I have my workshop in the garden of my house in Cambridge, England.

I was taught by Desmond Clover for three and a half years in one-to-one sessions, then set up my own workshop in 1994. My pots are meant to be used every day. They are a conscious effort to counteract mass produced industrial ware. I aim for a combination of elegance and usefulness and focus on simple decorations that can easily be matched with other pots within my range.

The clay I use is white stoneware, thrown on the wheel and fired in an electric kiln to 1250OC. I have developed a range of blue, green and natural glazes which I double-dip to create patterns within them. I also use scraffito techniques for more precise designs.
